As a boy, Jim Nash knew he wanted to be a lawyer. Growing up in Northwestern Illinois, he was encouraged by his parents and several excellent role models to follow his goal. As former senior partner at Nash Bean Ford & Brown, he focuses his practice primarily in the area of estate planning, together with wills, trusts, estate administration, business planning, and dispute resolution/selected litigation. Jim’s motto, “I always want to be part of the solution…not part of the problem.”
Jim chose to emphasize the estate planning practice because it is one of the areas of law where positive and constructive outcomes are achieved in most situations. The goal of gaining client understanding and positive participation is not taken lightly by the firm. Good organization and solid basic documents are the foundation upon which high-quality estate planning must begin. Clients with such a plan can choose to address some of the more difficult issues with intermediate and advanced estate plans if needed. Individuals, families and small and medium-sized businesses enjoy the real benefits of preserving assets and saving taxes is usually a good experience! In addition to these benefits, Jim wants to give clients a positive legal experience by giving them an understanding of the process and their estate plan.
